Incident at 16607 Larchwood

March 20, 2006 -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in the apparent strangulation of his wife at 16607 Larchwood about 7:55 a.m. on Sunday (Mar. 19).

Juan Guadalupe Garcia (H/m, DOB 7-23-71) is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his wife, Michelle Garcia, 35.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.E. Elliott and Officer M. Cruz Jr. reported:

The victim and suspect were involved in an argument that escalated into a physical struggle at their home. The victim died, apparently as a result of asphyxiation or strangulation. An autopsy is being conducted by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

The suspect fled the home and was arrested without incident at a separate location about five hours later.
