Traffic Incident at 2800 Almeda Genoa
June 4, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2800 Almeda Genoa
about 6:10 p.m. on Saturday (June 3).
The identity of the female victim is unknown.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant
N. Nguyen and Officer R. Stafford reported:
According to a witness, a blue Mercury Villager
van was traveling eastbound on Almeda Genoa at a high rate of
speed when it swerved across the median and struck a red pickup
truck traveling westbound on Almeda Genoa. The female victim,
who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the van, was pronounced
dead at the scene. The other three occupants of the van and the
driver of the truck, Jose Delangel, were taken to Memorial Hermann
Hospital. The female driver of the van and a four-year-old girl
sustained minor injuries. A five-year-old girl in the van sustained
serious injuries and the driver of the truck sustained a broken
leg.
