Incident at 2100 Bentworth Drive
June 4, 2006 -- Charges have
been filed against a suspect wanted in the death of a man at 2100
Bentworth Drive about 1:35 a.m. on Saturday (June 3).
The suspect, Tony Aaron Lem (w/m, DOB: 10-13-87),
has been charged with murder in the 337th State District Court.
He is still at-large and may be driving a dark blue or black Ford
Taurus.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Binford and
Officer T. W. Miller reported:
The victim, Michael L. Eager, 22, of 2150 Bentworth
#496, was with several friends at a local restaurant when he and
one of the friends got into a verbal argument. The friend became
angry after Eager touched his girlfriend on her back. After the
argument ended, everyone left and Eager returned home with his
girlfriend and two other friends. One of the friends with the
victim received several calls from the irate boyfriend who stated
he was coming over to Eager's residence. A short time later, the
suspect and irate boyfriend arrived at the location and the boyfriend
became involved in a fistfight with Eager. The boyfriend then
got into the suspect's vehicle and drove a short distance before
the suspect turned the vehicle around and headed towards Eager.
The suspect then swerved his vehicle toward Eager and hit him
with his car. Eager was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital
where he later died from the massive head trauma he sustained
when hit by the vehicle.
