Incident at 1415 West Gulf Bank #106

July 26, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1415 West Gulf Bank #106 about 11 p.m. on Tuesday (July 25).

The suspect, identified as Paul Simmons (b/m, DOB 6/27/87), has been charged with manslaughter in the 339th State District Court.

The victim is identified as Tommie Lee Reado Jr., 15, of 7310 Eugene. He sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.W. Howard and Officer B. Evans reported:

Two friends, Tommie Reado Jr. and Paul Simmons, were inside the apartment at 1415 West Gulf Bank when Simmons began playing with a gun. Simmons aimed the gun in Reado's direction and pulled the trigger causing it to fire. Reado was struck in the abdomen and transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
