Incident at 5500 Desoto
July 18, 2006 -- Houston police
are searching for the person who gunned down a 15-year-old male
in the 5500 block of Desoto on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at about
1:46 a.m.
According to Houston Police Department Homicide
Sergeant L. Flores and Officer T. Andrade, HPD officers heard
several gunshots in the area of Antoine and Desoto and discovered
the body of a teenager lying in the parking lot at 6002 Antoine.
Investigators learned that the victim, Christopher
Harris, of 5500 Desoto #1303, and his cousin were walking on Desoto
Street when the suspect approached them and began shooting. Harris
was shot in the right side of his neck, lower right back and front
left upper arm. Harris ran towards a near-by store where he collapsed
and died. The suspect ran into a nearby apartment complex and
is still at large. Harris and his cousin are from New Orleans
Witnesses described the suspect as a black male,
between 18 to 19 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing
about 120 pounds. He was clean-shaven, bald and had tattoos on
his neck, arms and chest. He had a muscular build and was wearing
black jeans and no shirt.
