Incident at 15240 Galveston Road
July 6, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating the kidnapping of a juvenile female at 15240
Galveston Road about 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday (July 5).
The victim, 12, did not appear to be physically
injured but she was taken to Texas Children's Hospital for examination.
HPD Homicide Division Officers K. Carr and A.
Mares reported:
The victim went to a grocery store with her mother
about 8:30 p.m. and returned home about 8:50 p.m. After having
been home for about thirty minutes, the suspect knocked at the
door stating he was from the grocery store they had just shopped
at. The suspect told the victim's mother that her daughter had
stolen some candy from the store. The victim's mother said she
was going to call the store to verify the suspect's information
so she went to get a pen. When she returned to the front door,
the suspect and her daughter were gone.
The mother called the police to report the incident.
At about 2:10 a.m. today (July 6), the female victim was found
by a Pasadena police officer at a convenience store near the East
Sam Houston Parkway South and Red Bluff, where the suspect had
dropped her off.
The suspect is described as a white male, possibly
Hispanic, in his late 40s to early 50s, wearing a tan button-down
shirt, dark pants, and a tan baseball cap. He has dark colored
hair and a medium build. The suspect was possibly driving a dark
tan sports utility vehicle, similar to a Chevrolet Suburban. The
investigation is continuing.
