Incident at 8206 Golf Green Circle

January 13, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 8206 Golf Green Circle about 5:10 p.m. on January 12, 2006.

The suspect, a 15-year-old female, was arrested in the 11500 block of Old Main and has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of murder.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. H. Roberts and Officer B. W. Nabors reported:

The victim, Cindy Ching Stevens, 44, of 8206 Golf Green Circle, learned her 15-year-old daughter had skipped school on the previous two days. When her daughter arrived home, Ms. Stevens confronted her and an argument ensued. The daughter went to a bedroom and got a handgun that belonged to Ms. Stevens. As they continued their argument in an upstairs bedroom, the suspect shot her mother several times. The suspect left the residence and was later apprehended.
