Incident at 7300 Carew

December 26, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7300 Carew about 4:45 a.m. Friday (December 22).

The victim, Mark Brooks, 39, of 9000 Fondren, suffered a gunshot wound and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officer A.D. Brown reported:

A passing motorist saw Mr. Brooks' body lying in the middle of the street and called police. Witnesses reported hearing a single gunshot about 4:45 a.m. and saw two unknown type vehicles leaving the area. Brooks was at the Sahara nightclub, located at Beechnut and Boone, prior to being found dead.
