Update on Incident at 10301 Sandpiper

December 23, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a man in connection with the murder of an adult male (Hurricane Katrina evacuee) that occurred at 10301 Sandpiper at 7:30 p.m. on August 26, 2006.

The victim was identified as Cory Chevell Stovall, (b/m, DOB: 7/24/81). He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Reggie Dorsey (b/m, DOB: 7/12/78) has been charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court.

Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Officer T. Hufstedler reported:

The shooting occurred in the courtyard area of the Regency Walk apartments. According to witnesses a male and two females confronted Stovall and he was shot multiple times. At the time, a murder warrant was outstanding for Cory Chevell Stovall by the Houma, Louisiana police department.

Reggie Dorsey is still at large. It is believed that he travels between Houston and Louisiana. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime-Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
