Incident at 11900 Bellaire, Suite D

December 14, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 11900 Bellaire, Suite D on December 13, 2006 at 8:54 p.m.

The victim, Peirre J. Mai, 29, sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Wyers and Officer B. W. Nabors reported:

Mr. Mai was dining at the Cajun Kitchen restaurant with friends when an unknown male entered the restaurant, pulled out a weapon and shot him. As the suspect fled the restaurant, an employee retrieved his pistol and followed him on foot. The suspect pointed his weapon at the employee, who then shot at the suspect numerous times as he fled on foot.
