Update on Incident at 7035 Bellfort #1107
August 23, 2006 -- Charges are
pending against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of
a man and a woman at 7035 Bellfort #1107 about 12:05 a.m. on Monday,
May 15, 2006.
Suspect #1, Marcus Dantrelle Aguillard (b/m,
DOB 4/15/88), surrendered to Houston police investigators at 1200
Travis earlier today without incident. Suspect #2, Kelton Ramon
St. Cyr (b/m, DOB 12/13/83), was already in custody at the Harris
County jail on an unrelated murder charge.
The victims were identified as Ricardo Nino Jr.,
29, and Eva Pena, 26, of 7035 Bellfort #1107. Both were shot multiple
times and pronounced dead at the scene. The couple's infant daughter
was found unharmed inside the apartment.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J.W. Belk and
S. Kennedy and Officers M.J. Miller and T.W. Miller reported:
On May 14, 2006 at 12:02 a.m., patrol officers
responded to the Bellfort Plaza apartment complex and learned
that the apartment manager, Eva Pena, and her
husband, Ricardo Nino Jr., were found shot to death inside of
their apartment.
Investigators conducting the on-scene investigation discovered
that the victims put up a significant struggle with the suspects
who ransacked the apartment.
Over the course of the last several months, investigators
conducted an extensive investigation that resulted in the arrests
of the suspects. Aided by Crime Stoppers tips and witness statements,
investigators obtained enough information to file capital murder
charges on both suspects.
