Update on Incident at 718 Coolwood
August 22, 2006 -- Charges have
been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting
of a man and the wounding of a woman at 718 Coolwood about 1:30
a.m. on April 9, 2006.
The suspects, Julian Richardson (b/m, DOB 11/5/86)
and Alfred Netter (b/m, DOB 2/28/86), are charged with capital
murder in the 178th State District Court.
The deceased victim, Andrew Morris, 20, of 670
Maxey Road sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced
dead at the scene. The wounded victim,
whose name is being withheld to protect her identity, managed
to flee to a nearby residence and was transported to Memorial
Hermann Hospital where she was treated and released.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant John Parker and
Officer R. Moreno reported:
The victims drove to an apartment complex and
picked up Richardson and Netter in order to conduct a drug transaction.
The four individuals then drove to 718 Coolwood, where the suspects
shot both victims. The suspects fled in the victims' white 2001
Toyota Camry. The surviving female victim was able to provide
investigators with valuable information, which led to the arrests
of Richardson and Netter whom she positively identified. Richardson
confessed to his role in the shooting that helped lead to the
recovery of evidence in the case.
