Traffic Incident at 3900 North Highway 6
August 19 , 2006 -- Charges
are pending against a suspect involved in a fatal traffic accident
at 3900 North Highway 6 about 6:30 p.m. on Friday (August 18).
The identity of the deceased male victim, 36,
is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's
office.

R. Gonzales and Officer D.W. Ertons reported:
The driver of a SUV, traveling north on Highway
6 at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic, struck
another vehicle which was sitting at a red light and towing a
trailer. The SUV spun out of control into the southbound lanes
of Highway 6 where it struck another SUV, causing that vehicle
to rollover. The driver of the second SUV was pronounced dead
at the scene and his passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann
Hospital via Life-flight in critical condition. A southbound Pontiac
was struck by the second SUV.
The driver of the first SUV smelled of an alcoholic
beverage and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for
treatment. He was taken into custody for suspicion of driving
while intoxicated and a mandatory blood sample was taken.
