Update on Incident at 10555 Spice Lane
August 18 , 2006 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10555
Spice Lane about 1:30 a.m. today (August 18).
The identity of the victim, 29, has not been
released pending notification to family members. He suffered multiple
gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants L.A. Flores,
B. Harris and Officers R. Castens and T.J. McCorvey reported:
The victim was found on a sidewalk between two
buildings inside of the Aspen Ridge Apartment complex. Witnesses
told investigators they heard several gunshots and then saw two
black male suspects running from the scene and then getting into
a dark sports utility vehicle, possibly a Dodge Durango, heading
toward the West Sam Houston Parkway.
Both suspects are believed to be 22 to 25 years
old. Witnesses said one suspect, a Hurricane Katrina evacuee from
New Orleans who goes by the name of 'Red,' is 5 feet 2 to 5 feet
3 inches tall, has gold teeth, and was wearing a black T-shirt
and blue jeans. The other suspect was about 6 feet 2 to 6 feet
3 inches tall and weighs about 185 to 200 pounds. He was wearing
dark clothing.
The motive for the shooting appears to be robbery.
