Incident at 2600 Wuthering Heights Drive

August 13, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at 2600 Wuthering Heights Drive around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday (August 12).

The victim is identified as Ernest Wayne Colbert, 47, of 2600 Wuthering Heights Drive. He suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.H. Roberts and Officer B.W. Nabors reported:

Ernest Colbert became involved in an argument with his neighbor on that neighbor's front porch. Colbert challenged his neighbor to come out to the street and settle their disagreement, which he declined to do. It was not until Colbert struck the neighbor's vehicle with his fist that he came outside armed with a kitchen knife. Colbert, who was armed with a garden hoe, continued to argue with the neighbor who stabbed him numerous times.

The investigation is continuing.
