Incident at 9560 Homestead
April 2, 2006 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9560 Homestead
on April 1, 2006 about 2:45 p.m.
The victim is identified as Anthony Taylor, 19,
of 7221 Bywood. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was
pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and
Officer T. McCorvey reported:
Investigators learned that Taylor was in a gang
and information received showed that he was killed by one of his
fellow gang members. The shooting motive appears to be retaliation.
It appears that confrontations with his fellow members began weeks
ago, as a result of the confrontations Taylor was shot on the
head (March 1), but survived his wounds.
On March 31, Taylor and another gang member were
involved in a fight and guns
were pulled out but no one was hurt. Taylor was threatened to
be killed and he
never contacted the police. Family members reported to police
that Taylor had
pulled a gun on his uncle and that he was having major disputes
with his fellow gang members.
Anyone with information in this case is urged
to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime
Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
