Incident at 4300 South Shaver

September 12, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 4300 South Shaver about 3:20 a.m. today (Sept. 12).

The deceased victim is identified as Osman Rafael Flores, 29, of 572 South Pecan in the city of South Houston. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The surviving victim, Kimble Mitchell, 29, of 10226 Elmhurst, also suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.W. McStravick and Officer P.T. Yochum reported:

Mitchell was visiting a friend at the apartment complex at 4300 S. Shaver when he got involved in a verbal and physical confrontation with several other males, including Flores. Mitchell was shot several times. At some point later, Flores was shot multiple times and died.
