Traffic Incident at 6400 Richmond Avenue
May 22, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6400 Richmond Ave.
about 4:30 a.m. today (May 22).
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger received non-life-threatening injuries.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant
T.D. McCabe and Officer R.C. Stafford reported:
The victim's vehicle, a newer model Nissan 350Z,
was traveling eastbound on Richmond Ave. at a high rate of speed.
The driver lost control and struck another vehicle, which caused
him to veer onto the curb and hit a small tree. The impact caused
the vehicle to spin and hit a light pole on the driver's side.
Toxicology tests will determine if alcohol was a contributing
factor.
