Update on Incident at 7440 Dillon
May 19, 2005 -- Houston police
have learned the identity of a second deceased male in a shooting
incident at 7440 Dillon about 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2005.
The deceased victim was identified as Horace
Allen Paul, 57, of 7542 Almeda Genoa Rd. He suffered gunshot wounds
and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect has been identified as John Wiley
Lewis (w/m DOB: 6-21-57). He too suffered gunshot wounds and was
pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary autopsy results, along with the
initial investigation, indicate that separate weapons killed both
males.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T Wyers and
Officer D. R. Shorten reported:
Witnesses said Paul was a business owner in the
area and was taking a female employee home. The female employee
arrived home where she found the suspect, Lewis, with whom she
had been having an affair with, inside. It appears Lewis broke
into her home and was armed with her husband's weapon. The female
went outside and advised Paul that she had a problem. Paul, who
held a concealed handgun license, went inside to confront Lewis
and shots were fired.
