Incident at 3737 Watonga

March 27, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3737 Watonga about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005.

The victim is identified as Efran A.J. Deese, 24, of 3737 Watonga.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.E. Elliot and Officer J.C. Bonaby reported:

Deese was coming home from church with his wife and children. He parked his vehicle and began to walk towards his apartment. Deese was approached by an unknown white or Hispanic male in dark clothing and wearing a ski mask. The suspect struck Deese and caused him to fall to the ground, then stood over Deese and fired multiple shots. The suspect fled the scene on foot. Deese was pronounced dead at the scene.
