a.m. on May 29.
The shooter is wanted for questioning in the
death of Jorge Alberto Olvera, 17, of 4320 Crites #2. He suffered
a gunshot wound to the face and shoulder. The injured victim,
Yoxiel Gallegos, 16, received a gunshot wound to the right arm
and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick
and Officer I.F. Flores reported:
It was originally believed an altercation took
place at the intersection of Texas and Delmar. The driver of a
white pickup truck with a black stripe got out of his vehicle
and shot into Olvera's vehicle. The shooter drove off and Olvera
drove into an apartment complex located at 4313 Harrisburg where
he was pronounced dead.
During the follow-up investigation, Homicide
Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Officer H. Chavez determined
the shooting occurred on Altic at Texas and discovered firearm
evidence indicating such. Investigators re-interviewed Gallegos
and another witness, and both admitted they were with Olvera when
the shooting occurred. During the second interviews, both men
admitted they (and Olvera) were going to rob the driver of the
white pickup truck prior to the shooting.
Investigators are seeking information on the
driver of the truck, described as a small white Dodge or Toyota.
The driver (shooter) is described only as a Hispanic male in his
