Police Release Composite of Kidnapping / Sexual Assault Suspect

June 6, 2005 -- Investigators in the Houston Police Juvenile Division have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in the aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault of a 12-year-old boy about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday (June 4).

The victim said the suspect was a Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s, somewhere between 5 feet 2 and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a chubby build. The suspect drove a brown and white van.

HPD Juvenile Division Sergeant L.R. Ousley and Officer J.T. Roscoe of the Sex Crimes Unit reported:

The boy and his eight-year-old cousin were leaving a Dollar General Store in the 8300 block of Bellfort when they met the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect told the boys he could not speak English and needed someone to order food for him at the McDonald's restaurant across the street at 8320 Broadway. The children, both bilingual, agreed to go with the suspect and got into his brown and white van. The suspect gave the younger boy money and sent him into the restaurant to order the food. He then drove away with the 12-year-old in his vehicle. The suspect drove to a secluded area, had the victim disrobe, and then forcibly sexually assaulted him. After the assault, the suspect dropped off the victim at a Subway restaurant on Monroe at the Gulf Freeway. The victim then walked home, getting help from strangers as to how to get there. The younger boy, after discovering the van and his cousin missing from the parking lot, walked home and told his parents what had happened. The parents called police.

Anyone with information on the suspect in this case is urged to contact the HPD Juvenile Division at 713-731-5335 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

In addition to the Crime Stoppers reward, Schepp's Diary is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect in this case.
