Incident at 12510 South Green
July 25, 2005 -- A 36-year-old
man is arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a police
officer and possession of a controlled substance after a brief
fight with an HPD Narcotics officer on Friday, July 22, 2005 at
12510 South Green around 10 p.m.
According to Houston Police Department Homicide
Sergeant L.J. Baimbridge and Officer N.T. Ruland, HPD Narcotics
officers were conducting an investigation at 12510 South Green
when a narcotics suspect assaulted an officer. During the struggle,
the suspect managed to push the officer to the ground. The suspect,
Winthrop Eugene Bossett (bm/ DOB 12-15-68) reached under his shirt
into his waistband as if to pull a weapon. The officer, fearing
for his safety, pulled his pistol and fired once at the suspect
and missed. The suspect fled on foot and was caught a short time
later by patrol officers in the area. Neither the officer nor
the suspect was seriously injured during the incident.
Charges were filed in the 185th State District
Court.
