Incident at 11715 South Glen
July 24, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating the aggravated assault of a two-year-old child
with a deadly weapon at 11715 South Glen about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday,
July 23, 2005.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.
She was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. She
was later transferred to Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital,
by Life Flight, in critical condition.
The suspect was identified as Amin Hussein (w/m
DOB: 8-31-60).
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L. Baimbridge
and Officer N. Ruland reported:
Several juveniles were playing football in the
courtyard of the apartment complex. During the game, a football
accidentally broke Hussain's window. He came outside and confronted
the group of juveniles. Hussein pulled a pistol from his pocket
and raised it towards two of the juveniles. The juveniles ran
away from Hussein and he fired one shot, striking a two-year-old
child who was being held by a third juvenile. The bullet struck
the infant in the neck. Hussein was taken into custody and charges
are pending.
