Incident at 8901 Bissonnet
December 31, 2005 -- Houston
police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men at 8901
Bissonnet about 1:30 a.m. today (Dec. 31).
The first victim has been identified as Keith
Hayes, 19, of 2717 Orchid in New Orleans, Louisiana. The other
male victim is identified as Calvin Clay, 23, of an unknown address
in Louisiana. Both victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds and
were transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital by private
vehicle. Hayes was pronounced dead upon arrival and Clay died
several hours later.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Motard and
Officer C.P. Abbondandolo reported:
According to witnesses, the victims and the suspect
are all from New Orleans, Louisiana and had relocated to Houston
after Hurricane Katrina. The victims traveled between Houston
and Louisiana in order to work. Earlier today, both victims drove
back to Houston after work and stopped along the way to pick up
several friends. The group arrived at an apartment complex located
at 8901 Bissonnet and entered apartment #334 at approximately
1:30 a.m.
Shortly after their arrival at the apartment,
Hayes got into an altercation with an occupant known as "Al".
The suspect produced a pistol and shot both victims. After the
shooting, the suspect jumped from a second floor balcony and fled
on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male in his
early 20s. He was approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slim
build. He has long hair styled in braids and has an alias of "Al".
The victims and the suspect all know one another from Louisiana.
