Update on Incident at 6200 West Bellfort #435
December 26, 2005 -- Charges
have been filed against a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man
at 6200 West Bellfort #435 about 8 p.m. Oct. 26, 2005.
The victim, Pablo Habacuc Sotelo, 63, of 6200
West Bellfort #435 suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest
and abdomen.
The suspect has been identified as Eduardo Perez
Torres (w/m DOB: 12-10-79). He was arrested and has been charged
with murder in the 338th State District Court.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and
Officers S.R. Straughter and T. Hufstedler reported:
Mr. Sotelo was last seen Wednesday night buying
beer at a nearby convenience store and then entering his apartment
with Torres and an unknown male. According to a witness, Mr. Sotelo
had earlier stated he was going to have company at his house during
the World Series playoff game that evening. An employee of a pest
control company found Mr. Sotelo dead the next day inside his
apartment. Investigators were able to determine a struggle had
occurred inside the apartment and they recovered a large knife
and small knife handle.
