December 1, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the 3000 610 East Loop and the northbound ramp of I-10 around 1:30 p.m.

Witnesses told HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Officers R.S. Kessler and J. Mushinski that a Ford Expedition was northbound on the exit ramp and swerved off the concrete onto the dirt on the left side of the ramp. The driver, 30-year-old Analee Velazquez, lost control attempting to get back onto the ramp and her vehicle rolled over. Ms. Velazquez was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she died from injuries suffered in the accident. A four-year-old passenger in the Expedition was ejected, but apparently suffered only minor injuries. The child was also transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.

This incident is still under investigation.
