Incident at 9000 Carsondale
August 12, 2005 -- Houston police
are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9000 Carsondale
about 12:30 a.m. today (August 12).
The victim has been identified as David Louis
Davis, 55, of 407 Trichelle in Pasadena. He suffered a gunshot
wound to the head and back and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. W. McStravick
and Officer I. F. Flores reported:
Davis, along with a female friend, got into his
vehicle in the parking lot of a local bar at 9210 Winkler. The
female was sitting in the driver seat while Davis sat in the passenger
seat of the vehicle. The female noticed two males, only described
as Hispanic, beating on an individual outside the bar. A third
male, also described only as Hispanic, turned toward Davis' vehicle
and displayed a handgun. The male appeared to be in his early
20s with a crew cut. The female backed out of the parking space
and struck another vehicle also attempting to back out. The male
then fired at Davis' vehicle multiple times, striking Davis in
the head and back. The female drove to the 9000 block of Carsondale
where she flagged down a wrecker driver.
