Update on Incident at 3369 Sunnydale
April 11, 2005 -- Houston police
have identified the body of a woman found at 3369 Sunnydale on
Saturday, April 9, 2005 about 5 p.m.
HPD Homicide Division Officer S.R. Straughter
reported:
Neighborhood kids were playing at Scottcrest
Park when they noticed a decomposed body in Sims Bayou. The kids
informed their mother who called 911. Police arrived at the location
and saw the victim. The victim is a black female who was wearing
a blue sweat shirt (USA in bold letters and a US flag), gray sweat
pants and a tattoo (Winnie) on the left side of her chest. The
body appears to have been in the water for several days and she
was found with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim has been identified as Montiya Nickesha
Thomas (b/f DOB: 3-9-78) of 4200 Tavenor. The Harris County Medical
Examiner's Office has ruled her death a homicide.
