September 20, 2013 -- The Mayor’s Citizens' Assistance Office, a division of the Department of Neighborhoods, announces Free Document Shredding & ID Theft Prevention services for Houston residents. Sponsored in partnership with the Houston Police Department and Data Shredding Services, Inc., the event will take place on Saturday, September 28, 8 a.m. to 12 noon, at the HPD Northeast Station, 8301 Ley Road, Houston, TX 77028. The free, secure document shredding services are intended for individual residents. The services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are for paper material only.

Mayor Annise Parker launched the Free Document Shredding & ID Theft Prevention initiative in April 2012. The events are held once per month, each at a different location in order to serve residents in neighborhoods throughout the city.
