2024 National Night Out Events Kick Off in the Alief Neighborhood
The Alief Pre-National Night Out event provides neighbors a chance to connect with each other and first responders

September 24, 2024 --

WHO: The City of Houston Department of Neighborhoods and the Alief Super Neighborhoods Council are hosting the 2nd Annual Alief Pre-National Night Out. We will be joined by the Houston Police Department, Houston Fire Department, Houston Health Department, Houston Parks and Recreation Department, Houston Public Library, the Alief Independent School District, local businesses, other government agencies and many sponsors including Walmart, Texas Children's Health Plan, Bimbo Bakeries and more.

WHAT: National Night Out takes place in over 16,000 communities across the United States annually. In Texas, National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday of October. This event is intended to forge police-community relationships and raise awareness of community police programs such as Citizens on Patrol, Communicators on Patrol, Greater Houston Police Activities League (GHPAL), Positive Interaction Program (PIP) and other anti-crime efforts. Like other National Night Out events, ours will offer an opportunity for residents to get acquainted with each other and the police and fire personnel who serve them.  In addition to music, games, and free food and drinks, the event will feature special guest, Jeffrey Louis, from Team USA's 2024 Olympic breakdancing team.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

WHERE: Alief Community Center, 11903 Bellaire Blvd., Houston, TX 77072

WHY: Join millions of others throughout the nation to connect with neighbors and strengthen the bonds between communities and law enforcement.
