October 31, 2024 -- Mayor John Whitmire invites the public to the annual "Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration."
The event will honor and celebrate the brave men, women, and families who fight for our liberty and freedom.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, and feature keynote speaker Vice Admiral James W. Crawford III, President of Texas Southern University.

10 a.m. – Ceremony begins
11:00 a.m. – The ceremony ends with a 21 Gun Salute and a Moment of Silence in honor of the signing of the WWI Armistice.
11:30 a.m. – Houston Salutes American Heroes Parade
Houston is a cornerstone of Veterans Day celebrations in the United States. As a city, Houston is proud to pay tribute to our men and women in the military.
Parking is free in the Theater District Tranquility Parking Garage. Please use entrances #2 and #5 to receive the complimentary parking.
