2021 LEGAL DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE AWARDS

Outstanding Legal Achievement Award Recipient
The recipient of this award is an attorney, paralegal, staff member or a team of Legal Department personnel who has made a significant legal contribution of particular note and importance benefitting the well-being of the City as a municipal corporation and the long-term well-being of the City’s residents and businesses. The Legal Department is proud to announce the recipient for 2021 is the Building Code Team (Holland Banks, Kim Mickelson, YuShan Chang, Heather Cook, Alexandra Tolbert, Joseph Hays & Alice Wilson).

Susan Taylor Award Recipient
The recipient of the Susan T. Taylor award is a seasoned attorney in our department who exemplifies collaboration, mentoring, excellence, achievement, and continuing growth in our attorneys and staff.  The Legal Department is proud to announce the recipient for 2021 is Martin Buzak.

Edward A. Cazares Award Recipient
The recipient of this award is an attorney with five or fewer years of experience who demonstrates excellence in professionalism and municipal law. The Legal Department is proud to announce the recipient for 2021 is Sean Townsend.

Outstanding Attorney Award Recipient
The recipient of this award exemplifies true professionalism. They practice the highest standards of personal and professional ethics; maintain a professional demeanor with everyone with whom they interact; and possess extensive knowledge and understanding of their job. The Legal Department is proud to announce the recipient for 2021 is YuShan Chang.

Outstanding Paralegal Award Recipient
The recipient of this award exemplifies the epitome of professionalism; demonstrates excellence and initiative; and an impressive level of responsibility and attention to detail; consistently presents a positive image and is forward thinking; and renders extraordinary contributions that coincide with the purposes of the Department. The Legal Department is proud to announce the recipient for 2021 is Leslie Sears.

Outstanding Staff Award Recipient
The recipient of this award exhibits reliability and commitment to the job; is competent and knowledgeable; follows through on commitments; has a positive attitude and behaves in a manner that is admired and valued by others; and shows courtesy while working with others and develops effective relationships with clients and coworkers.
