Meet the Advisory Board - Eduardo Honold

Eduardo HonoldDr. Eduardo Honold has worked in Adult Education and Literacy in Texas for the past 24 years as a teacher and administrator. He is currently the Senior Director for the Adult Education Division at Harris County Department of Education, where he previously served as Director between 2009 and 2018, overseeing the delivery of literacy services and workforce development to over 7,000 adult students annually. During that time, he served as the Adult Education representative for the Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board and worked closely with school districts, CBOs, and employers to develop innovative literacy programs for the Houston area. In 2018, he was named Administrator of the Year by the Texas Association for Literacy and Adult Education. He got his start in adult literacy in El Paso, Texas as an instructor and administrator at Socorro ISD, serving on the Upper Rio Grande Workforce Development Board and the City of El Paso's Commission Workforce Development Commission. Before entering adult education, he earned a doctorate in political science from Northwestern University and was an Assistant Professor at Bates College.  Dr. Eduardo Honold's career in adult education and literacy reflects his commitment to improving the lives of adult learners in the Houston area and across Texas.
