Meet the Advisory Board - Bryant Black
Bryant Black joined the Greater Houston Partnership’s UpSkill Houston Initiative in July 2017. Since joining UpSkill, Bryant’s focus has been on educating employer partners around the way they can look to develop their new and incumbent workforce through inclusive growth. Much of this energy is concentrated toward convening new groups of education, community, and employer leaders, while also focusing on how UpSkill can more accurately measure the long-term success of the initiative. This is all in an effort aimed to move the needle toward growing a workforce of the future that, while helping Houstonians share in the prosperity of our unique and vibrant regional economy, is also great for business. The work is primarily focused with employer partners in clean energy, construction, petrochemical, healthcare, technology, transportation, and manufacturing, but occasionally extends to other areas of the Houston economy. Previously, he was part of KPMG’s Management Consulting group within their advisory practice, working in various industry sectors on organization transformation and cost optimization engagements to help companies more effectively operate and maximize value. During this time, he also assisted many organizations as they digitized and modified their operating models for today’s business climate. Prior to this, he spent several years at National Oilwell Varco in various management roles supporting capital projects throughout their global supply chain. He has his undergrad from Texas Tech University and graduate degree from Tulane University. Bryant lives with his wife and son in Houston, TX.
