THE CITY OF HOUSTON CELEBRATES RECYCLED ART EXHIBITION GRAND OPENING

 

“Holiday Trees: Artistically UpCycled”

The Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD), the City Gardens and The Center for Recycled Art

 

 

What: 

A special ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the art exhibit “Holiday Trees: Artistically UpCycled”

 

 

Where:

The Bob Lanier Public Works Building, 611 Walker, Ground Level Lobby

 

 

When: 

Wednesday, December 5, 2012, 10:00 A.M.

 

 

Why:

The City of Houston SWMD, the City Gardens and the Center for Recycled Art are featuring local artists in an exhibit promoting recycling in creative and innovative ways.  The exhibit features holiday trees decorated with recycled materials, some of which are sourced from The City’s Reuse Warehouse and the Environmental Service Center South.  The exhibit is free, open to the public and can be viewed 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, December 5 to 28, 2012. 

 

 

Photo Op: Opportunity to interview local eco-artists and photograph their inventive and inspired holiday designs made of recycled materials.
