Officers were given verbal consent to check a homeowner’s shed regarding a possible burglary in progress. Upon gaining access into the shed, officers gave verbal commands to the suspect to exit but he did not comply. While attempting to detain the suspect, a struggle ensued and gunfire erupted between the officers and the suspect. Both officers sustained gunshot wound injuries. The suspect sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
