Incident at 3011 Ella Boulevard

January 9, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at 3011 Ella Boulevard about 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2006.

The victim has been identified as Edilfonso Acosta, 41, of 3011 Ella Boulevard #60. He suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer C. Park reported:

A roommate of Mr. Acosta discovered him inside their apartment with several stab wounds. The victim's bedroom had been ransacked. There was no forced entry into the apartment, leading investigators to believe the victim knew the suspect.

Investigation into Shooting at 1401 Redford Street

January 10, 2022 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of two men that occurred at 1401 Redford Street about 2:35 a.m. on Saturday (January 8).

The victims, James Sipes, 41, and Kelvin Menefee, 57, were both transported to area hospitals in stable conditions.

HPD Major  Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers B. Godoy and J. Windham reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found both Sipes and Menefee had been shot.  Sipes had suffered a minor gunshot wound to the head and Menefee suffered a gunshot wound to the foot.  Paramedics transported both men to the hospital. 

Both men stated they had been in an apartment at the above address when an unknown suspect(s) fired shots into the apartment for unknown reasons.
