Surveillance Photos Relelased in Fatal Shooting at 5685 De Soto Street

September 02, 2021 - Houston police have released surveillance photos of a suspect vehicle involved in the fatal shooting of a man at 5685 De Soto Street that occurred about 11:40 p.m. on Monday (August 30).

The suspects are described only as two black males.  Each was wearing a hoodie - one white and the other black.  They were seen fleeing in a gold or tan 2014 Chevrolet Malibu with possible Texas license plates NZF2891.  Surveillance photos of the vehicle are attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detective A. Ferrell and Officer H. Horne reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  He was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

A witness reported seeing a white sedan arrive and two males get out of the backseat.  The two fired multiple shots at the victim then got back into the sedan whose driver, an unknown male, fled the scene.
