Investigation into Shooting at 6400 Martin Luther king Boulevard

February 5, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman that occurred at 6400 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 3:35 p.m. on Thursday (February 4).  

The victim, Kimberly Brown, 49, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers H. Martinez and M. DeLeon reported:  

Ms. Brown was sitting with a group of people at the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Southlea Street when an unknown suspect inside a gold SUV of unknown make and model fired shots in the group's direction.  Brown was struck in the right leg.  The gold SUV fled the scene northbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard toward the South Loop (South Interstate Highway 610).   Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Brown to the hospital.  

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.
