Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 11305 Todd Street

January 8, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 11305 Todd Street about 10:40 p.m. last Friday (January 3).

The victim, Romeo Thompson, 20, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.  Doctors pronounced him deceased on Tuesday (January 7).

HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Patterson and R. Naughton reported:

HPD officers responded to a shooting call in a business parking lot at the above address and found Mr. Thompson lying unresponsive.  He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

At about 11:10 p.m. HPD officers were called to the Harris County Jail Processing Center (JPC) after two males had arrived at the location and said they were turning themselves in because they believed they had shot and killed a man.  The men stated they met Thompson to sell him marijuana and, as Thompson got into the front seat of the car, the men noticed Thompson's friend attempted to get into the backseat but was unable because door was locked.  The men stated they heard a gun cock and saw Thompson had pointed a pistol pointed at the driver.  Fearing for their lives, both men shot Thompson, drove down the street to the above address and left Thompson at the location.  Both men returned home and told their family what had occurred.  Family members told the men to turn themselves in and brought them to the JPC.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
