Investigation into Shooting Incident at 3502 Lydia Street

February 19, 2020 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which armed suspects fired shots at HPD officers at 3502 Lydia Street about 11 p.m. on Tuesday (February 18).  

The officers did not discharge their duty weapons and were not injured in the incident.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers B. Salazar and A. Williams reported:  

HPD tactical officers were in an unmarked vehicle and conducting surveillance in an area known for burglaries of motor vehicles.  The officers began following possible suspects.  Once the vehicles reached the convenience store parking lot at above address, unknown suspects fired shots at the officers' vehicle, but the officers were not struck.  

Three adult males in the area were detained and are being questioned by investigators as to their involvement in the incident.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
