Investigation into Shooting at 2700 Staples Street
February 3, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 2700 Staples Street about 4:10 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 1).
The victim, Edwin Brooks, 35, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer M. Althaus reported:
A witness stated that Mr. Brooks was in the parking lot of a closed business at the above address when, for unknown reasons, he and another male began shooting at one another. The suspect fled the scene. Paramedics transported Brooks to a hospital.
There is no suspect description at this time.
