Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3130 Mangum Road

June 7, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 3130 Mangum Road about 11:45 a.m. on Thursday (June 6).  

The identity of the male, believed to be in his mid to late 40s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detective G. Sullivan reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found a man with a gunshot wound, lying unresponsive inside an apartment.  Officers detained a male, who lived at the location and identified himself as the shooter.  

A preliminary investigation indicated both men got into an altercation which ended when one said he feared for his life and shot the other male.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
