Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8100 West Montgomery Road
August 19, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 8100 West Montgomery Road about 7:45 p.m. on Saturday (August 17).
The identity of the male victim, 61, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer A. Chheav reported:
The victim was driving a maroon Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on West Montgomery Road and struck a gray Dodge Ram pickup truck, pulling a trailer, traveling eastbound and turning northbound onto West Montgomery. The victim lost control of his pickup truck and overturned. The victim, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
A preliminary investigation and witness statements indicate the victim ran the red light at the intersection prior to the crash. The driver of the Dodge, who was determined not to be impaired, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
