Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 631 Elton Street

August 5, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 631 Elton Street about 2:20 p.m. last Friday (Aug. 2).

The suspect, Rudolph Ignatius Baker (b/m, 56), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 262nd State District Court.  He is not in custody.

The victim, Francisco Aceves, 41, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Althaus and Z. Brumley reported:

Mr. Aceves and Baker got into an argument at their residence at the above address when Baker went to his bedroom, retrieved a gun and then shot Aceves in the abdomen.  Baker then fled the scene, possibly in a silver Ford sedan.  Paramedics were called and transported Aceves to the hospital.
