Houston Announces Participation in Global Park(ing) Day
September 3, 2021 -- Houston Public Works, Administration & Regulatory Affairs, and the Planning & Development Department invite the community to participate in PARK(ing) Day, Friday, September 17th.
The free, global event re-purposes street parking into places of art, play, or rest. The City will provide 36 parking spaces along Prairie Street between Travis & Fannin Streets for the community to transform into parklets for the event. To reserve a space, signup online at: bit.ly/parkingdaysignup.
Participation is first come, first serve and participants will be notified by email of their location. A design guide and more information about the event can be found here (.pdf).
The community is invited to visit the parklet installations between 10AM - 3PM on Friday, September 17th.
