State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry

Would you need assistance in a disaster? The State of Texas offers a service that allows Texans who need help in an emergency to register for help. Call 211 or visit texasstear.org.

About OEM

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) serves Houston residents and City departments by coordinating Houston's mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery activities. OEM accomplishes this thorugh integrated planning, community outreach, emergency response coordination, and recovery activities. OEM also maintains the City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at the Houston Emergency Center to provide a place for City leadership to direct and coordiante Houston's response.

About the EMC

Rick FlanaganRick Flanagan was appointed as Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Houston in 2014. In his role, Mr. Flanagan oversees the emergency management program for the nation’s fourth-largest city, which includes the coordination of disaster mitigation, planning, response, and recovery.
