January 30, 2013 -- The City of Houston Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities invites citizens to a free Financial Empowerment Forum. Designed to serve persons with disabilities, this 7th annual event is scheduled for Thursday, February 7 , 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, 1475 West Gray . This year's theme is "Managing your Money." Learn about banking, budgeting and saving. Explore the basics of starting your own business. Find out whether you qualify for the earned income tax credit. Become informed on how you can prevent identity theft. The event will be captioned and staffed with American Sign Language interpreters.
