Hurricane Season: Be ready for it at work and at home
    ​ ​​We are on the doorstep of another hurricane season. The Atlantic starts June 1 and continues through Nov. 30. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration anticipates that above-average ocean temperatures may produce a busy hurricane season. It pays to be prepared at home and at work. For COH employees, that includes knowing your Tier designation and what to do if severe weather threatens the Houston area.

SWMD Northeast Service Center first to finish ZIP training modules



Congratulations to the Solid Waste Northeast Service Center. Under the leadership of Deputy Assistant Director of Field Operations Jeffrey Williams, they became the first SWMD Service Center to complete the ZIP training modules. Also contributing to the achievement were Reno Wilkins, HR Risk Management safety supervisor, and Debra Blackshear, SWMD safety manager, who spearheaded the training. More than 85 employees have completed the ZIP training modules. The training led to detailed discussions regarding driving safely; slips, trips and falls; back safety; and overall professional accountability.
